Assignment 2_(1): Compare and contrast living at home and in the dormitory

Living at home and living in the dormitory are two things. Because of location, I lived in the dormitory when I was a student at National United Junior College in MiaoLi. Now I am a student of NTUST and I am living at home with my family in Taipei. For me, the difference points between living places are independence and privacy.

I learned so many things about take care of myself when I was living in the dormitory. I need to wash my dirty clothes, keep my bedroom clear and sometimes cooked food by myself because no one will do that for me. I take care of myself even when I got cold. I learned how to make me felt battery quickly and I do not want my family worried about me. I grow up and become independent. In contrast with living in the dormitory, living at home always let us rely on parents who always look after us. For example, when you get cold parents will take you to hospital, when you feel hungry parents cook food for you and you do not need to worry about having no clear clothes to wear. But you lose chance to be independent.

The other difference point is privacy. Living in the dormitory, I share the space with my roommate and we lived together every day and night so there is almost no privacy. Unlike living in the dormitory, living at home is more private. I had my own room and I enjoyed being in my room because I can do anything whatever I want there. For example, sometimes I do not want to be watched when I feel sad and I can be along with myself. When I feel good I can listen to music and sing songs loudly, I still do not worry about making noise.

There are always two sides at one thing, such as advantage and disadvantage. Independence and privacy are both important; therefore, you should take chance to live both in the dormitory and at home. It will be a good experience for you.

I like your article. It is clear and fluently. It is nice that you make your opinions so organized. In fact, I have the same feeling about living in dorm.
