The question as title that my friends asked me and here is what I think.

Of course not! In my mind I think we should take care of our parents when they get old because they have also taken care of me sine I was a child. Although I am a woman maybe someday in the future I will marry to someone who really loves me that I will not refuse living with his parents; therefore, I will tell him because I love him so I do not mind taking care of his parents and I also hope he can do the same thing to me to take care of my parents.

My parents always tell me no matter how old I am, I am still their little girl. That is why I think taking care of our parents will always be our responsibility.

In the 21st centenary, people rely on computers and the Internet. It really changes the way that people take pictures. Most people use digital cameras instead of traditional cameras especially for the youngster. It has made our life easy to record.

The most important advantage of a digital camera is immediate. After taking pictures, you can see them immediately from your digital camera’s LCD monitor and make sure the pictures are actually what you want. If the picture is blurred, losing focus, looks awful or not good enough, you can delete it right away. You do not have to worry about wasting your films because the picture is made up from a digital camera. It is just digital data stored in the memory; therefore, you can easily take a new one and will not feel regretful of wasting films.

The second advantage of the digital camera is easy to edit or to modify. You can use the computer to edit the picture. It is interesting when you can edit the picture. To put texts and any cute icon on it and to change color or to cut down some parts of the picture you want by editing tool. You can make your own special and unique photograph album.

Another advantage of the digital camera is convenience. There are many ways to record your life. One of them is using the camera because it is easy and quick. You may write a diary to record your life, so you need to describe what you see but sometimes it is quite difficult using words to accord with it because you may not even find a word to say. When you use the digital camera, you only need to look at the monitor and to press the button to move the cursor and view what you want to see. You can even share pictures to your family and friends by sending them emails or posting the pictures onto your web log. It is simple.

In conclusion, having a digital camera today is convenient to memorize your life for yourself. You can take pictures whenever you want and wherever you are. Not only it is convenient for you, but it makes your life more plentiful.

Taiwan's first AIDS case had found in 1984. Today, the age range of AIDS infection has become younger, and it’s worth paying attention to such a serious problem. There is a new concept telling us how to protect yourself get away from AIDS infection before you are in sex.

First is no safe way, no way. It’s means you should wear condom in sexual behavior. Second is no prepare, no way. In mentality, you think you really want to have sex with this man or women then you do it. The other is no love, no way. It’s worth to think over the concepts.

Assignment2_(Final): Compare and contrast living at home and in the dormitory

Living at home and living in the dormitory are two things. Because of location, I lived in the dormitory when I was a student at National United Junior College in MiaoLi. Now I am a student of NTUST and I am living at home with my family in Taipei. For me, the different points between living in the dormitory and living at home are independence and privacy. I learned so many things about taking care of myself when I lived in the dormitory. I needed to wash my dirty clothes, kept my bedroom clear and sometimes cooked food by myself because no one would do that for me. I took care of myself even when I got a cold.

I learned how to make me feel better and I did not want my family to worry about me. I grew up and became independent. In contrast with living in the dormitory, living at home always lets me rely on my parents who always look after me. For example, when you get a cold, parents will take you to the hospital; when you feel hungry, parents cook food for you and you do not need to worry about having no clean clothes to wear. But you lose chance to be independent.

The other different point is privacy. Living in the dormitory, I shared the space with my roommates and we lived together every day and night so there was almost no privacy. Unlike living in the dormitory, living at home is more private. I have my own room and I enjoy being in my room because I can do anything I want there. For example, sometimes I do not want to be noticed when I feel sad and I can be alone with myself. When I feel good I can listen to music and sing songs loudly, I do not need to worry about making noises.

There are always two sides at one thing, such as advantages and disadvantages. Independence and privacy are both important; therefore, you should take chance to live both in the dormitory and at home. It will be a good experience for you.

Recently, people talked about a famous movies "An Inconvenient Truth," a documentary films, which was telling people the problem of global warming. I saw some parts of the video from my classmate's report at English Oral class on last week. The topic of documentary is very important and serious.
I felt sad when the video showed the Earth is getting hurt by what people have been doing these years and it is terrible; therefor, I will share it to my friends and my family, because talking care of the Earth is what we need to do at this century and it is almost late!

Without adequate knowledge and outlook for life, it is usually hard for a student to decide his major. My major is CSIE (Computer Science Information Engineering), and there are two reasons for me to choose the major. First, the field is interesting. Second, because of the previous work experience, I need to improve my professional knowledge and technical skill if I want to have a satisfying job in the future.

Before I came to NTUST, I had worked for years as an assistant engineer at electric hardware deportment for Soliton Technologies Company. At that time, I learned so many things from my boss and assignments which are electronic hardware I have been given from my boss. Once I was assigned to write a software program for hardware controlling. For example, the LED light on/off, transmit or receive data from one computer to another and access data at random-access memory, and all of these actions followed programe statements. From this assignmet, I saw many interesting things that I have never learned before.

At that moment, I also realized the professional knowledge that I had known was too little. That was why I could not do my job better and efficiently. If you get a project like that, you need to know how to do or handle it correctly and efficiently. For instance, you need to know "Computer Organization" to make correct assignment for your resource, then you should learn "Algorithms," which helps you to implement request functions and makes program structure to accord the project. As mentioned in the above, these skills are related to Computer Science so I decided to go back to college to increase my ability. Now I am a student of CSIE department and I am happy to learn things from my major.

There are many kinds of reasons for people to choose their majors. For me, I chose my major based on pleasure, getting a better job and improving knowledge. How about you? Nor matter what reasons you have for choosing your majors, just enjoy yourself in your major.

Free writing/Independent learning-3: A interesting paragraph "Discover the 90/10 Principle"

Yesterday I read an interesting paragraph my older sister give to me. "Discover the 90/10 principle," it talk about 10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react to it. We have no control over this 10%, the other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.

For example, you cannot control a red light. But you can control your reaction. The paragraph also tells us some way to apply the 90/10 principle. If someone says something negative about you, do not be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You do not have to let the negative comment affect you!

React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.

All foreign students have the same difficulty-the English barriet.

A. One area of difficulty is the words of English.
1. Old word which people nowaday don't use anymore and couldn't understand.
2. Words that combine to make different meanings.
a.the verb-and -preposition combination, "to work out".

B. Another difficulty for foreigners is pronunciation.
1.For instance, the word "conduct" has two meanings, depending on the pronunciation.
2.Accent.
a.If a foreigner learns English in the northern part of the country, he or she might have trouble communication with southerners.

1. They have to learn technical terms and phrases, which may be about new technology that doesn't exist in theircountries.

Assignment1: Why did you choose your major?

My major is CSIE(computer science information engineering), I choose CSIE be my major for two reasons one because it is interesting, the other one is I know I am not good enough to have a job in this field; therefore, in this field I want to learn more general knowledge, logic thinking, technical skills and so forth.

One half years ago, before I came to NTUST I had worked as assistant engineer at electric hardware deportment for Soliton Technologies CO., LTD. , a system design and integrated company, for years. At that time, I learned so many things from my boss and my assignment work, most of my works are electronic hardware but in one of our projects I had chance been assigned to do software programming, it is interesting. I can see the LED light on/off, transmit or receive data from one computer to another, read/write data in random-access memory by used computer program to control. It is real interesting.

But I also realized I knew too few knowledge to do my job better and efficient.For example, when you want to coding or programming for a project, you need to analyse your own resource, you need to know computer organization and what kind of function you are going to implement then to assign resource correct and make program structure to accord the project. All of those skills to handle a project, I had no time to learn because our company was a small company, everyone was busy and work hard including me, my boss was too busy to teach me. so I designed to go back to college for increase my ability of programming, logic thinking and computer science technical knowledge. All skills that I want to increase are in computer science field and I was luck to passed two-year technological university entrance exam, it let me became one of students of CSIE department of NTUST since one half years ago.

Now I am happy to learn things from my major. When you interesting or want to be better in something, you will let it become your major.

Free writing/Independent learning-2: A sentence from the movie "Red Corner"

I learned a sentence from the movie "Red Conner" that I saw two weeks ago. It talked about human rights.

The sentence is "I will be a part of your life whatever you go," I think in chinese it means『無論你到哪，我將會是你生活中的一部份。』

When you did something really hard or something mean special to you or have a good/bad time with someone special and both of you will remember it forever, your special friend may say this sentence to you.

I like watching movies. Learning English by watching movies is a good and relaxed way for me.

In class exercise: Who is the person you admire ?

I admire my mother because she is wise.
She usually use easy way to let me understand things that make me confused or hard to choose.
For example, when I feel stress of anything she always told me
"Everything will be fine! Follow your heart then do your best and do not be scare," and it is make me better.
Besides she always avoided trouble things at beginning. Sometimes she just knew, she knew things that you can touch or not and she always right!

To me, my mother is a great ma.

Last Tuesday 3/6, I heard something I never knew before on my 'Fashion' class.

Laura Lung, marketing manager of Tiffany and the speaker of the class. She let me know why Tiffany be love by everyone expecially for woman, something behind the magic blue box, there are some stories about how Tiffany company take care of there employees, how much they force on quality and design of products and how they respect their designer.

Now I know Tiffany is more than expensive treasure.

In class exercise: A Very important skill

My major is CSIE if you ask me what is important skill a person should learn in order to be successful in the world? My answer are English, mathematic and E.Q. but I think most important skill is E.Q.

There are many reasons that tell us E.Q. is important skill. First, if you have good E.Q. you will know how to control your emotion when you feel anger, sad and blue, you will change your mind, encouraging yourself. Second, if you have good E.Q. you will know how to communicate to others, you can find someone who will be a matched person when you build your own thing.
